DESCRIPTION:
Scope Building NT completely refurbished the Law Courts building. Substantial demolition enabled a new configuration of the spaces.
This busy Courthouse remained fully operational throughout the project.
To minimise disruption and noise to the staff and public Scope employees and sub-contractors commenced work at 4am and no demolition or other noisy works were undertaken during court sessions.
Construction works on the ground floor included the building of a new private entrance, 2 DDA compliant entrance ramps, and a new reception area. First floor works included fit out of a dedicated Domestic Violence Court and a multi-purpose Court, and provision of new stairwell access.
Throughout the building smaller rooms were refurbished.
Basement works included lift installation and cells refurbishment. The project included Fire Services, Mechanical, new Life Installation, Electrical, Data, Communications and Security upgrades.
